Christmas is right around the corner, and travelers looking for their next holiday vacation destination are in luck.
Travel blog Our Escape Clause ranked the top cities in the U.S. to visit during Christmas to help jetsetters choose between the many options out there.
“Whether your idea of the perfect holiday getaway is to be surrounded by snowy mountains, twinkling city lights, or sandy beaches,” part of the report said, “there are plenty of unforgettable options for Christmas vacations in the USA that fit your travel style.”
Galveston was one of the Texas cities to make the list. Known for its beach and variety of seafood restaurants, the Southeast Texas city features Christmas activities alongside its year-round offerings that are still available for visitors due to the area’s mild winters, the article said.
From touring the luxurious, Victorian homes built by the first European settlers in the East End to ice skating at Moody Gardens, there are lots of activities for visitors to enjoy.
“This barrier island[‘s] warm environment [is] perfect for enjoying a laid-back Christmas on the beach,” the blog wrote.
According to Our Escape Clause, the Dickens on the Strand festival is a must-see, with a parade, costume contest and a ball to celebrate the event.
The other Texas city to make the list was San Antonio.
