Central Pa. Company Opens 1-million-square-foot Distribution Center

A York County company has opened a massive distribution center in Illinois.

Operations began at a new 1-million-square-foot warehouse for Wolf Home Products on Monday at 30350 S. Graaskamp Blvd. in Wilmington, Illinois.

The York-based company said that the warehouse is designed to create efficiencies and better serve customers across the Midwest.

The company said that the facility will support its national growth strategies while serving the Midwest region including western Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The new warehouse is the company’s largest distribution center in the United States. The warehouse will store various building, kitchen and bath products.

The facility will also be home to an employee and product training center and office spaces.

“This is a milestone day for us – we couldn’t be more excited about the opening of this facility, and the increased efficiencies it creates to allow us to better service our customers,” Craig Danielson, CEO of Wolf Home Products, said in a news release. “With multiple capabilities and offerings under one roof, this expansive warehouse signifies our commitment of delivering high-quality building products and fostering business growth for our customers and suppliers in Midwestern market.”

The warehouse is expected to be fully operational by January 1.

  • The Wolf business dates to 1843 and former Gov. Tom Wolf was part of the sixth generation to run the business, according to a Spotlight PA/PA Post report in 2020.
  • After winning the election for governor in 2014, Wolf said he put his assets in a blind trust, and he gave a cousin and former business partner authority to sell shares in the business, according to YDR.
  • On May 29, 2015 the Wolf Organization announced that a Virginia-based private equity firm, Quad-C, acquired a majority interest in the Wolf Organization, and the company’s CEO later said Wolf was no longer a shareholder in the business, according to YDR.
  • Quad-C Management announced in 2019 that it had completed the sale of its investment in Wolf Home Products, and the same month Tenex Capital Management announced it had invested in Wolf Home Products.
  • PrimeSource Brands, a specialty branded residential building products company, purchased Wolf Home Products from Tenex Capital Management in 2021.
