The United States and South Korea have warned of the dangers of North Korea’s cyber activities, which would involve stealing money from foreign entities to fund the North Korean “regime”.

This point was underlined after a meeting in Washington of the United States Special Representative for North Korea, Sung Kim, and the South Korean Special Representative for Peace and Security on the Korean Peninsula, Kim Gunn, who expressed “serious concern over Pyongyang’s disregard for Washington’s and Seoul’s repeated calls for engagement,” according to a statement from the US State Department.

“The officials stressed the importance of raising awareness among the private sector and the international community about the dangers of North Korea’s illicit cyber activities, which include stealing money from foreign entities to fund Kim Jong Un and his regime.” , indicates the letter.

Officials from both countries called on all states to “fully” implement UN Security Council resolutions on North Korea and urge Pyongyang to cease its provocative and dangerous activities.
